As a starter player (17 hours/ 3rd rank) i find amuzing that almost always i cant capture enemy ships.
Also i cant board them, So im just forced to shoot few broadsides to waterline and sink them as I just cant kill all crew in bigger ships.Smaller enemy ships on otherhand are very much easy to capture by killing whole crew(or cutting down to 1 and battle ends)
as soon as I drop their crew down from 75-100 to 7 then all sudden i cant kill rest of those? I tried yesterday over 70 broadsides with grapes but game just refuses to go lower than 6-7 enemies.
When I started out and experienced the same, I got the answer «Less crew = harder to hit and kill them».
Wich makes sense. 100 crew on a ship and you sweep the deck with grapes. You will hit a lot in that bunch. But with just 7 crew left, it becomes harder to hit the few scattered crew members.
The damage model is a lot more complex than the ui suggests. Shots are physically modelled, including where they penetrate the hull, ricochets and where crew actually are. Like McGeek points out, you’re just missing or even firing at a section of the ship with no surviving crew.
To board, get downwind of the target and use your ship to force them up into the wind, this will kill their speed and allow you to initiate boarding.
And perhaps avoid the ‘ai cheating’ thing when there’s stuff which doesn’t make sense, it’s really overdone on this forum =-I
Main logic can be found in Assembly-CSharp.dll, as per usual for Unity games.
Most logic is serversided. Unless there is some kind of flaw, I doubt that it’s possible to modify character data. Requests properly assume a dumb client. All items have a unique ID, so it’s probably impossible to generate new ones or change characteristics of an item, such as price.
To enable the console, you should look in the DetermineCanUseConsole() method (pretty obvious). In short, it checks the user for permissionstrings and toggles the console based on these.
Simply change the method to return true to enable the console.
The console can only be used in a battle instance, not in open world or menus. ProcessConsoleCommand checks entered console commands
Warning If console command equals «enableCheats», it will create a silent report with a Steam profile indicating that the user tried to enable cheats. PrepareSilentReport will create this report, put it into the queue and send it on the next Update(). It will be marked with Major priority, so the odds are that you’ll receive a manual ban.
To enable cheats, the method EnableCheats(string password) must be called. The easiest way to do this would be to enable the console and execute the command there. The command will send an RPC event of enum type CONSOLE_ENABLE_CHEATS, together with the password string encoded to bytes from ASCII.
