Friday Night Funkin’ HD Mod is a free video game utility that allows you to enjoy the popular music game, Friday Night Funkin’, with more content and a fresh new look. Primarily developed by KOLCHAN8 a.k.a. KOLSAN, this mod practically overhauls most of the game itself—from the art style to the backstory behind each week.
Similar to the B-Side Remixes mod, Friday Night Funkin’ HD is mostly about the artistic and creative side of FNF. Most of the in-game art has been replaced with updated versions and there are additional cool animations. Plus, it implements some new mechanics.
Everything in high-definition
Friday Night Funkin’ is a free and open-source rhythm video game first released in 2020. Similar in style to arcade rhythm games like Dance Dance Revolution, you have to tap the correct arrow key in time to the beat of the song. The story behind these music challenges is that you have to impress your girlfriend while in a rap battle against different characters.
Due to the game’s open-source codes, tons of mods were made for it—some overhauling aspects of the game to deliver a whole new experience. This is what you’ll find in Friday Night Funkin’ HD. With it, most of the graphics will be changed to the art style of the developer. Aside from that, new animations and cut scenes are added to help flesh out the story behind each Week.
There are also new gameplay mechanics for certain levels, too. One requires you to time a dodge using the Spacebar. Not all Weeks in the original game are available here, though. The overhaul doesn’t extend to other mods that add new characters so this may not work in conjunction with them. Plus, the story content is actually much more mature in nature.

Friday Night Funkin’ HD Mod is a free mod for the popular music game series. Much like Vs Tord, V.S. AGOTI Full Week, and VS Shaggy, it adds new features to the base title. In this edition, you’ll find enhanced graphics with improved visuals, animations and effects.
While the main updates revolve around the high-definition images, there are some other new features too. It contains an actual dialogue between the characters to add more life to them. You can also change the custom Keybinds that relate to the gameplay mechanics.
Improved graphics
The most predominant feature of Friday Night Funkin’ HD Mod is that you’ll have enhanced visuals vs the base game. You’ll see brighter colours and better animations, giving an idea of the direction the series could be going. There’s also crisp lines and lighting for added effect.
Custom key assignments
Unlike other FNF mods, Friday Night Funkin’ HD Mod lets you customise which keys you bind for specific movements. While you can use the arrow buttons by default, other players prefer the WASD arrangement. You can set the options in the settings menu.
Dialogue included
